As many of our members and frequent visiting yachtsmen will appreciate The Island Sailing Club is currently undergoing an exciting period of renovations and upgrades, all designed to enhance the experience for our members and their guests. While the primary focus has been on refreshing and modernising the interiors, the wider goal is to create a more welcoming, comfortable, and enjoyable space for everyone to relax and socialise whilst retaining the history and tradition of the club. We’re delighted to share that the reception area is now complete, offering a bright and inviting first impression, and the newly laid carpet and oak wood flooring on the main floor has been exceptionally well received — it looks absolutely stunning and has already transformed the feel of the clubhouse.
Work on the Griffin Conservatory is now nearing completion, and it won’t be long before members can fully enjoy the refreshed space. Next, attention will turn to the Centenary Room, which is set for an exciting overhaul that will further elevate the club’s facilities for its members. As the weather begins to improve, we’ll also be revitalising the outdoor areas with a fresh coat of paint and updated lighting to ensure they shine just as brightly as the interiors. It’s a very exciting time for the club as we continue investing in its future, securing its place as a vibrant and welcoming hub for years to come.
