Day Six of North Sails Cowes Week delivered another fantastic day of sailing on the Solent, with the Island Sailing Club once again buzzing from lunchtime through to the evening. Members, guests, visiting yachtsmen and the wider sailing community all enjoyed another memorable day at the Club.
The Top Terrace was particularly busy at lunchtime, with the restaurant fully booked as members and guests enjoyed a delicious lunch overlooking the Solent. With great food, spectacular views and a wonderful atmosphere, it was the perfect setting to watch the racing and soak up the Cowes Week experience.
Meanwhile, the Main Terrace welcomed the Isle of Wight Chamber of Commerce for a very successful business lunch. Businesses and representatives from right across the Island came together, enjoying good food, networking and the fantastic Cowes Week atmosphere. It was a great opportunity to showcase the Island Sailing Club as a meeting place for both the sailing and business communities.
The afternoon saw the Club host its Prize Giving, celebrating the achievements of competitors and recognising those who had performed particularly well on the water. A huge congratulations to all the prize winners, and to everyone who took part in another day of challenging and exciting racing. The conditions once again provided what can only be described as perfect champagne sailing.
As the sun began to set, members continued to enjoy the Club, with members dining in and the Top Terrace hosting the popular Mermaid Gin Fish & Chip Supper. The event was fully booked and enjoyed by all, with delicious food, great drinks and excellent company creating another wonderful evening atmosphere.
Once again, the Club was full of life, both on and off the water. With superb sailing, busy terraces, great food and a packed programme of events, Day Six proved to be another outstanding day of North Sails Cowes Week at the Island Sailing Club.
